Frequently Asked Questions

What mental health issues can counselling help with?

Counselling can help with almost any mental health challenge or life stress you’re facing. Common issues include anxiety, depression, stress, grief, trauma, relationship or family problems, anger management, self-esteem issues, and many others (like those listed above). You do not need an official diagnosis or a severe condition to benefit from therapy. Whether you’re dealing with a diagnosable mental health disorder or simply feeling overwhelmed by life’s challenges, talking to a therapist can provide relief, coping strategies, and a path forward.

Do I need a diagnosis before starting therapy?

No. You do not need a medical diagnosis or referral to begin therapy with us. Many people start counselling without any formal diagnosis—perhaps you’re feeling off, stressed, or unhappy and just want help figuring it out. That’s okay! Our therapists will meet you where you are. We can help assess your needs over time if appropriate, but our focus is on how you’re feeling and what you want to improve. What’s important is that you’re seeking support to feel better, not a label. Anyone is welcome, whether or not you’ve been diagnosed with a specific condition.

Can I get help online anywhere in Ontario?

Absolutely. We offer secure online therapy to clients anywhere in Ontario. No matter if you live in London, Burlington, a small town, or a remote area of the province, you can access our counselling services via video sessions. Online counselling provides the same confidentiality, compassion, and quality of care as an in-person visit. It’s a convenient option if you prefer to seek help from the comfort of your home or if you’re unable to travel to our offices. All you need is a private space and an internet connection. We are licensed in Ontario, so we can work with you regardless of your location within the province.
