Areas of support
Support for what you’re carrying
You don’t need a diagnosis or a perfectly defined goal to begin. Therapy can start with what feels most difficult right now and become more focused as you gain clarity.
The starting point is simply understanding what has been making life feel harder.
01
Anxiety and persistent worry
Explore racing thoughts, overthinking, tension, avoidance and the pressure to keep everything under control. Learn about anxiety counselling.
02
Trauma, PTSD and emotional regulation
Build greater awareness of triggers and emotional responses while developing ways to feel safer, steadier and more present. Learn about trauma-focused therapy.
03
ADHD and day-to-day overwhelm
Explore challenges with attention, organization, motivation, emotional intensity and the exhaustion of trying to keep up. Learn about ADHD counselling.
04
Relationships and life transitions
Work through conflict, changing roles, difficult boundaries, loss of connection or uncertainty about what comes next, individually or together with your partner.

What to expect when you begin therapy
Starting therapy doesn’t require a referral, diagnosis or long-term commitment. The first steps are designed to help you ask questions and decide what feels right.

Therapeutic approaches
Evidence-based therapy, shaped around you
There is no single right way to do therapy. Hailey draws from several evidence-based approaches based on your concerns, goals and comfort, explaining what she recommends as you go.
Hailey is a Registered Psychotherapist and ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider with specialized training in trauma-focused therapy and ACT.
Values and meaningful action
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Learn to make room for difficult thoughts and feelings without letting them dictate every decision, then take practical steps guided by what matters to you.
Emotional awareness and connection
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
Recognize and understand emotional patterns, process difficult feelings and build healthier ways of relating to yourself and the people who matter to you.
Safety, trust and recovery
Trauma-Focused Therapy
Explore the effects of difficult experiences at a manageable pace, with an emphasis on safety, choice and rebuilding trust in yourself and the world around you.
Practical regulation skills
DBT-Informed Skills
Use practical mindfulness, distress-tolerance and emotion-regulation tools to respond more effectively when feelings or stress responses become intense.
Depending on your needs, Hailey may also draw from cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness, narrative therapy, internal family systems and solution-focused techniques.
You do not need to know which approach is right for you before booking.

Frequently asked questions
Questions before starting therapy?
Here are answers to some of the practical questions people often have before contacting a therapist in Burlington.
Do I need a referral to see a therapist?
No. You can contact Hailey or book a consultation directly without a referral. However, some extended health benefit plans require a doctor’s referral for reimbursement, so it is worth checking your individual policy.
How much does therapy cost?
Individual therapy is currently $150 for a 50-minute session, and couples therapy is $180 for a 60-minute session. A limited number of sliding-scale appointments may be available. Visit the therapy cost and insurance page for current rates and policies.
Is psychotherapy covered by OHIP or private insurance?
Private psychotherapy with a Registered Psychotherapist is not covered by OHIP. Many workplace, student and extended health plans do include psychotherapy coverage. You will receive a receipt after each session that you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement.
What is the difference between a Registered Psychotherapist and a psychologist?
A Registered Psychotherapist provides psychotherapy to help with emotional, behavioural and relationship concerns. A psychologist may also provide therapy, but can conduct psychological assessments and make certain diagnoses. Hailey is a Registered Psychotherapist and does not provide psychological assessments or formal diagnoses.
Should I choose in-person, virtual or phone therapy?
The best format is the one that helps you feel comfortable, private and able to attend consistently. In-person appointments offer face-to-face support at the Burlington office, while virtual and phone sessions offer more flexibility and eliminate travel. You can discuss the options with Hailey before deciding.
How do I know whether Hailey is the right therapist for me?
A good therapeutic fit includes feeling respected, understood and comfortable enough to speak honestly. The free consultation gives you an opportunity to ask questions, discuss what you are looking for and decide whether Hailey’s experience and approach feel suitable. There is no obligation to continue afterward.
